Cascadia Liquor Store Tasting Series comes to the Comox Valley

Comox Valley, BC – In celebration of BC Seafood Month, celebrity chefs Nathan Fong, Brian Yip and John McManus will be at Cascadia Crown Isle (200-444 Lerwick Road, Courtenay) tonight, June 16 from 6 – 7 p.m. showing consumers how to pair BC wines and beers, and fresh BC seafood, with samples that will be showcased during the BC Shellfish and Seafood Festival.
During the tasting event attendees will enjoy the following BC wines, beers and seafood:
- Chef John McManus, Vancouver Fish Company presents: Maple Chili Spot Prawns paired with 40 Knots Rose, Comox Valley and Driftwood Entangled Hopenweisse.
- Chef Brian Yip, Fanny Bay Oysters presents: Fanny Bay Oysters paired with 40 Knots Chardonnay and Tofino Kelp Stout.
- Chef Nathan Fong presents: Sautéed Spot Prawns with garlic and fennel cream paired with 40 Knots Spindrift and Townsite Tin Hat IPA.

The BC Shellfish and Seafood Festival is celebrating its 10th year with the biggest event ever. This event also recognizes the start of BC Seafood Month across the province. You can except to see more BC seafood on your plate at restaurants and in grocery stores, including IGA, Country Grocer and a variety of other chains on both Vancouver Island and the Mainland.
The largest event of the Festival is the crowd-pleasing Comox by the Sea Celebration on June 18 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. featuring celebrity chef demonstrations, competitions, interactive booths and incredible seafood tasting stations.
