BC Seafood Expo builds BC business and relationships

Comox, BC – The BC Seafood Expo in Comox, BC was a resounding success, generating multiple international business connections with a focus on supporting BC seafood exports and creating stronger relationships with international seafood buyers and industry experts.
“This year’s expo has been the best yet and we’ve developed some significant international business connections,” notes Brian Yip, General Manager of Fanny Bay Oysters.
Today (June 11) marks the beginning of the consumer and community portion of the festival where delegates and seafood / shellfish lovers enjoy the lighter side of the industry. International buyers and industry professionals will partake in a Big Animal Encounter Tour, Painting and Pints, the Mott’s Best Caesar in Town Competition and the Chef’s Shellfish Showdown at 40 Knotts Vineyard.
The BC Seafood and Shellfish Festival is celebrating its 10th year with the biggest event ever. This event also recognizes the start of BC Seafood Month across the province. You can except to see more BC seafood on your plate at restaurants and in grocery stores, including IGA, Country Grocer and a variety of other chains on both Vancouver Island and the Mainland.
The largest event of the Festival is the crowd-pleasing Comox by the Sea Celebration on June 18 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. featuring celebrity chef demonstrations, competitions, interactive booths and incredible seafood tasting stations.
