BC Shellfish & Seafood Festival Launch

On March 8th, I attended the 11th annual BC Shellfish & Seafood Festival and BC Seafood Expo launch event. The event kicked off with a Fanny Bay Oyster Bar Tour and then over to The Lobster Man and the Vancouver Fish Company for ten outstanding plates and wine.

The Launch event at the Vancouver Fish Company brought over 250 seafood industry leaders, Consul General representatives, media and other VIPS to network and sample delicious British Columbia seafood prepared by some of BC’s top chefs!

Here are some highlights from the launch:

Chef Angus An from Maenam prepares these steamed mussels with thai aromatics
Chef Alex Chen from Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar prepares clams in creole broth
Chef John McManus from Van Fish Co. prepares this pretty baked sablefish taco
Talented Chef Chris Whittaker from Forage prepares osyters picked with bull kelp
Surprise tasting: uni with smoked salmon!
Chef Taryn Wa from Savoury Chef Foods makes this steelhead gravlax
